QUICK NEWS - JANUARY 8th, 2010
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I hope you all a great holiday season. I know it's been a while since I
sent out a newsletter, but I have been reading your emails and
guestbook comments! Hopefully the news below will catch you all up...
email me if not (Jesse@FullThrottle.cc).
For those of you who don't visit the web site much but have asked, yes
- Full Throttle as a band has dissolved. I reached my 5 year
anniversary with Full Throttle in November, 2009, and when Daryl told
the band that he was quitting to do his own thing, it wasn't a tough
decision for me to just pull the plug. During those 5 years, I saw five
guitar players, five drummers and two bass players come and go, and the
timing just seemed right to end things on a high note and move on
myself. Five years of hard rockin fun, making great friends and jamming
with the best damn fans in the land. I that's a pretty good run by
anyones measure.
What does that mean for Jesse? Well, I'm definitely taking some time
off through the holidays/winter (though I've seen some of you out and
about at one planned and a couple of impromptu performances :). Longer
term, I'm currently planning to move forward as an acoustic only act
with a friend or two at my side singing and playing. Not sure what the
name of the act will be - Full Throttle Stripped? Full Throttle
Unplugged? Something entirely new without the name Full Throttle even
in it? I don't have all the details figured out just yet, but what I do
know is that (1) I'll see you all out rocking again soon, and (2) I
appreciate the love and support you've shown over the past five years
and especially over the past five weeks or so. You all rock!
And I'm equally sure you'll see Daryl, Mike, Dave, Dusty and probably other former members out doing their own thing as well.
On that note, a few of you have emailed me about "Full Throttle
sightings and rumors". I've heard about new bands calling themselves in
Delaware, Marysville and even right here in Columbus, and some of you
are asking me what I think about that. Well, Full Throttle is just a
name... one I certainly don't own (Coca-Cola officially owns it :). If
you've ever searched Google for "Full Throttle", you'll find that there
are many, many bands all over the country called Full Throttle. I
suppose it's kind of cool to hear that new "Full Throttle" bands are
popping up all over...
In the end, we built a lot of "brand equity" in the name Full Throttle,
and I can certainly see why people would want to pick it up now that we
have disbanded and ride on our popularity as far as they can. Whatever
works, best of luck to them all... and may the best "next version" of
Full Throttle win... LOL. For now, I will keep the web site and MySpace
going with the thousands of pictures, messages, shows, etc. as I
continue on to the next chapter and begin to build another band.
Hopefully that one will be worth copying too ;). Hopefully, they won't
steam my "SAA-LUUUUTTTE!" or my "WE ARE... FULL THROTTLE!". Those are
mine, yo!?! That would just be cheap LOL
Well that's it for now I suppose Again, thanks so much for staying in
touch... I really enjoy hearing from all of you and look forward to
seeing you all again somewhere in 2010. I'll keep you posted on when
and where that might be.
PEACE!
Check the full schedule to see all our
upcoming shows, and please share your thoughts and
wisdom in the guestbook with all the other Full Throttle friends and fans... WE ALL LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!
